Default on "decisive battles" and "time commanders"

    I heard people about it, so I asked around and someone I know made a videofile of some episodes of time commander (poor quality, and its still quite big). I really liked it, but he doesn't have all, and since it's so poor quality;

Is there going to be a re-run of the time-commander episodes? I know someone here made a thread about the new series (I hope I tune in on the right time to see those), but I'd really like to see all the old ones too.

In fact, wouldn't it be cool if they made a collecters edition Rome Total War with a bonus DVD of some of the episodes?

I also heard about Decisive Battles, and I think it should be playing around know on the History Channel? Unfortunately, I don't have this channel here (here is a small town in Holland). Is there a way to see those live online or something?

The series Time Commanders was produced by a company in the UK called Lion TV. I haven't seen anything on the BBC website about copies of the shows, but if you emailed Lion they may be able to help with information about purchasing or repeats of the shows. I would not be surprised if the BBC did repeat the last series before the next went out - seems to be a common practice here in the UK. As to Decisive Battles on the History Channel - sorry I havnae a scooby. How about googling for the show, seeing who produced it and then emailing them?

I agree that a tie-in with the a box set of RTW and DVD's of the show would well - blow my mind. Just so long as they don't do what was done for the DVD's for LotR - three different DVD's for the same film, each with more extras and then a box set. Ok, merchandise the second best triology in film, but that was just OTT!! BTW best ever triology - Godfather

If you have highspeed broadband internet [snip]. Although it'll take a couple days, you'll have it eventually.

I'm thinking of downloading Time Commanders myself (I tivoed Decisive battles).

Nothing close to pity moved inside me. I was sliding over some edge within myself. I was going to rip open his skin with my bare hands, claw past his ribs and tear out his liver and then I was going to eat it, gorging myself on his blood.

You can find The History Channel's Decisive Battles right here:

    www.historychannel.com/decisivebattles

It says RTW right up front there and even lets you view the promo for RTW.

The HC has a store - perhaps they sell the shows you want, if you want them bad enough.

    Bon apetit!

P.S. It looks like the HC is not planning to put the RTW Decisive Battles up for sale (see their store's "Coming Soon") - I told them the games have a big following and they should consider it. Anybody else suggest the same thing - votes count, if you want them to sell it!

This is from Lion Television's website: (http://www.liontv.co.uk/index.html)

    Lion News

Summer at Lion brings a whole new crop of programmes both in the UK and in the states.

Cult smash Time Commanders will return to BBC2 this autumn with a new series of battles, moving on from the ancient world to include the Mediaeval. Teams drawn from the ranks of the general public pit themselves against some of history's greatest challenges.

Medieval! So some one (CA?) must have been busy making all those Medieval units; seems logical to reuse them in a game too: MTW using the RTW engine?

I have seen what I think is the last of the first serie today. It was the battle of Raphia and the celebrities won.
It said after the battle was over that the the show would be back at monday 3rd of november. Funny enough, the third of November isn't a monday .
But I guess it will be sometime in that week. So its a long wait, but in 3 weeks we have R;TW to keep ourselves busy until then ;).

Nevermind I just heard it was 3rd november LAST year, and Raphia wasn't the last. Weird that they mention the exact date then, and not 'in a week' or someting like that. Even more weird since I thought the whole show aired at this spring...

Oh well. Sorry for the mixup..

The new series is going to shoot in October, so don't expect to see it before November.

Raphia was no the last, I think it was the battle of Catalunian Fields (probably spelt wrong) where the Romans allied with some Barbaarian tribes to defeat the Scourge Of God, The Huns.
