well if he cant create a rock that he himself cant lift... well then he is not allmighty is he?![]()
It depends on what god you are talking about Lazul. If you are talking about the christian god, he is not almighty in the same sense as the muslim god. Muslims would, answer yes to both questions because Allahs omnipotence is way beyond our grasp and as such He can do everything at any moment.
About the christian god, some would say the same as muslims, however, I think most priests would say, ask him![]()

He can create a rock too heavy for himself to lift, then make himself stronger, and then lift it![]()
If you had the ultimate power over everything that is, was and ever will be anywhere in the universe, and indeed outside of it, why would you spend your time making heavy rocks anyway? That would just be a waste of time.
There is a difference between allmighty and omnipotent. Omnipotence is not a biblical attribute given to God. It is sufficient to say that God has control over natural and physical law.Originally Posted by Lazul

Oh and this should not be in the Frontroom...
Gentlemen, gentlemen.
God, even when the word is not used at the beggining of a sentence, is always capitilized. It is God, not god.
Also, when refering to Him, all such referals are also capitalized. It should be written as "He, Him, Himself".
God created the laws of grammar and punctuation and they must be obeyed as are His physical laws.
Could God create a stone so heavy that He Himself could not lift it?
Yes.
But then He could decide He wanted to lift it and then He would.
Infite knowledge and capability exceeding our grasp.
If we cannot truly explain gravity and its method of transmission, then how can we hope to explain its affect on God Himself when our understanding of God is so uncertain.

Do you think Arnie could beat God in an arm wrestle?
I think he could.
False, only when God is a proper name (propium) it is spelled with a capital G, when used as a ordinary noun it is spelled god.Originally Posted by Beirut

Assuming you have an ordinary God that is.

.. think about that for a sec.
God being capitialised is only for a proper noun, other definitions are not rules of English but rules of faith.

Stepped out of the line,Like a sheep runs from the herd
Marching out of time,To my own beat now
The only way I know
One light, one mind,Flashing in the dark
Blinded by the silence of a thousand broken hearts
"For crying out loud" she screamed unto me
A free for all,Screw 'em all
You are your own sight

GARCIN: I "dreamt," you say. It was no dream. When I chose the hardest path, I made my choice deliberately. A man is what he wills himself to be.
INEZ: Prove it. Prove it was no dream. It's what one does, and nothing else, that shows the stuff one's made of.
GARCIN: I died too soon. I wasn't allowed time to - to do my deeds.
INEZ: One always dies too soon - or too late. And yet one's whole life is complete at that moment, with a line drawn neatly under it, ready for the summing up. You are - your life, and nothing else.

But in that case he could be able to make himself un-almighty as well. Only someone truly almighty is able to unmighty-fy himself.
maybe thats why god is a bit absent, he misstakenly unmighty-ed himself and now his stuck trying to lift a rock...![]()
