Default Sign in here as you get it!!

    Title says it all...

No doubt everyone will want to spend a few hours tinkering with their new toys before coming back to report on their findings. So I don't expect reviews, just acknowledgement.

    Just a few more hours...

I'VE GOT IT!!! It was easier than I thought. I just woke up today, called the games store at the mall and he said they had it. So I drove very carefully down there and walked in the store. There was no body! I expected a crowd of battling savages.... The guy was so nice. He asked me if I had the game reserved, and I said no. He still gave me a game from the stach with the reserved limited copies of the game. What a nice guy! Feel sorry for people who reserved the game well in advance. Come to think of it, I wasn't even hyped or planning on buying the game when it first came out! Sorry, but I can't wait to put it in my hard drive.

Congrats Ivan. Now the pressure is off me to be the first here at the Org with it. Actually, I'm a bit surprised no one in the eastern US got it earlier. I had planned to be at the store when it opened at 9:30am, but thanks to a bit of bad scheduling on my part, I had made an appointment for my puppy with the vet this morning.

Don't give in to the dark side. Remember, patience is a virgin. It'll feel great, you'll see.

Compusmart online states "in stock" where I have a copy reserved. Waiting for the call. Maybe I should call....

My son spotted it at EB and called to tell me he would get it and that I shouldn't pick it up on my way home from the office.

    I got it. Woot!

But I’m back at work and wont be able to play unitl around 6:30pm EST.

    I’ll tell you about the contents tho’;
    - There are 3 discs (yes 3!) in two jewel cases
    - There is a manual of approx. 80 pages that reminds me of the M:TW manual
    - There is an insert w/ the Roman Tech Tree on one side and a well laid out Province/City map on the other

Can’t wait for this day to be over!

Ok brother, this is the real deal.....have to get to work.....loaded easy on an HP P4 3 ghz with 1gig ram and Radeon 9800. Game is BEAUTIFULL Campaign game...map rocks....no provinces and where you place your army on this map will determine where you are on the battle map, so be carefull. Loaded up a German vs Roman battle. Before battle I got an animation of my general`s speech with view down the libne of legionnairies banging swords on shields...awesome. battle map misty forest and am in a huge clearing. I face off and defeat German cav on bothe wings and swing left cav and aux into forest to be ready to flank. Skirmishing and we advance to contact....graphics just rock. Control is a little different but will be fine. I overload left and crush their flank, but mine dont hold the right long enough and a melee ensues with rallied warband holding my advance while my right runs.
Needless to say havent gotten deep in yet but so far am VERY pleased. Battle did seem faster than MTW but slower than demo. Be carefull of your cav pursuing tho, very headstrong these Romans.
I know you guys will enjoy.

Nevermind, turns out my dvdrom didn't like the game. Fortunately, my cdrw and RTW appear to be getting along just fine. Installed and preparing to take the first turn in my megalomaniacal journey.

just wanted to complain a little.
    BEST BUY SUCKS @SS!!!!
first i got a presell from them. After my order vanished from the online record i called customer support. They told me that i didn't buy the actual game i bought the presell and will have to pay $49.99 for the game when i comes out. (what the hell is a preorder then?!!) So i waited for best buy to get it.
Friday the 24 (2 days after the release) i check on bestbuy.com if my local stores got the game yet. 8 stores in a 10 mile radius around me say they have it in stock. Went to every store none of them have it. (there goes the 3 hours). And in each an every store the best buy employee told be that i can by the presell, 2 days after the game was released!!!!.
Unless some one hold a gun to my head, i will never ever shop at best buy again, and i recommend you do the same.

I hear you. I "pre-ordered" too. Called them the morning of the 23rd - after the requisite "Huh?" "What's Rome Total War?" "Do you mean Medieval?" "Oh here it is in the system - no we don't have it yet?" , I called EB Games where the woman immediatly told me - "Yes, we have multiple copies of that, I'll put one aside for you." So I spent an extra $10 bucks!

Best Buy can BEST BITE ME!
