I'VE GOT IT!!! It was easier than I thought. I just woke up today, called the games store at the mall and he said they had it. So I drove very carefully down there and walked in the store. There was no body! I expected a crowd of battling savages.... The guy was so nice. He asked me if I had the game reserved, and I said no. He still gave me a game from the stach with the reserved limited copies of the game. What a nice guy! Feel sorry for people who reserved the game well in advance. Come to think of it, I wasn't even hyped or planning on buying the game when it first came out! Sorry, but I can't wait to put it in my hard drive.

Congrats Ivan. Now the pressure is off me to be the first here at the Org with it. Actually, I'm a bit surprised no one in the eastern US got it earlier. I had planned to be at the store when it opened at 9:30am, but thanks to a bit of bad scheduling on my part, I had made an appointment for my puppy with the vet this morning.

My son spotted it at EB and called to tell me he would get it and that I shouldn't pick it up on my way home from the office.

- There is an insert w/ the Roman Tech Tree on one side and a well laid out Province/City map on the other
Can’t wait for this day to be over!![]()

2 jewelcases? ehm that seems weird. I'm probably misunderstanding, because 2 jewelcases to me means 2 dvd boxes, making Rome the first standalone game I know to have that. Most of the time its just 1 jewelcase and any CD's beyond 2 are put in paper sleeves. There are also a few jewelcases that can hold 3 CD's, so if there are truly 2 jewelcases, it seems a bit of a waste and inconvenient too (takes up more space).
I'm probably misinterpreting, so could you explain what you mean with 2 jewelcases?

Soulflame, there are two jewel cases in the box. One hold discs 1 & 2 in a flip out double-sided tray and the other jewel case is your typical 1 CD case. I was a little surprised at seeing 2 of them too. They both have the same exact cover so it was impossible to tell the difference until you opened them. Okay, not impossible, one is heavier than the other.

Thanks. Have fun with the game

Yes I do actually. Does that mean i should unload service pack 2? Its just that it sounds like a different problem, it doesn't even get that far in the installation that smoogs got too. Thanks for your help!!!Originally Posted by CBR

Well someone else is trying it after uninstalling SP2, hopefully done soon. If that works you should try too.
Update: well he could install but seems to have problem trying to start up the game is it wont recognise the cd. Might as well try to uninstall sp2 and see if it works for you.

Brilliant, I'll maybe have to uninstall SP2 and/or alcohol to play RTW? Oh well, I'll have to buy something else then.

Just one old soldiers opinion.
We need MP games without the oversimplifications required for 'good' AI.
The problem with alcohol can be fixed by no-cd cracking games, don't worry about that.Originally Posted by SpencerH
Got to love "anti-piracy protection" that actually only affects people who actually bothered to spend money on your game.
