Ive heard from ppl before when they bought a game and couldnt install cause of the protection the game was having, i just hope the problems with RTW are not something like that.

Ok brother, this is the real deal.....have to get to work.....loaded easy on an HP P4 3 ghz with 1gig ram and Radeon 9800. Game is BEAUTIFULL Campaign game...map rocks....no provinces and where you place your army on this map will determine where you are on the battle map, so be carefull. Loaded up a German vs Roman battle. Before battle I got an animation of my general`s speech with view down the libne of legionnairies banging swords on shields...awesome. battle map misty forest and am in a huge clearing. I face off and defeat German cav on bothe wings and swing left cav and aux into forest to be ready to flank. Skirmishing and we advance to contact....graphics just rock. Control is a little different but will be fine. I overload left and crush their flank, but mine dont hold the right long enough and a melee ensues with rallied warband holding my advance while my right runs.
Needless to say havent gotten deep in yet but so far am VERY pleased. Battle did seem faster than MTW but slower than demo. Be carefull of your cav pursuing tho, very headstrong these Romans.
I know you guys will enjoy.

Hmmm... won't load on my pc either and I don't have SP2. I got the following error:

Right before I went to the store I realized my hardrive needed a defrag. Well I've have it at home for 2 hours and finally the defrag is complete damm 7 year old hardrive.

Well anyways that was foolish of me to read the manual then watch TV, because I could have installed the rct3 demo the store gave me on to my wifes computer and maybe played it. As it is now my wifes gonna get home and ask me to install it while I'm playing RTW probably right in the middle of a battle too

Nevermind, turns out my dvdrom didn't like the game. Fortunately, my cdrw and RTW appear to be getting along just fine. Installed and preparing to take the first turn in my megalomaniacal journey.

Dave, try to install all the newest drivers. I have heard of somebody who has had the same problem already and it worked after.

Installed smoothly for me and looks good. They should have released it the same time in Europe as here. Strange they used latin for MTW and now english for RTW.Im going to start editing the text files.

It installed and ran perfectly on my computer, I have SP2 installed and deamon tools and it didnt complain about any of it, worked seamless.

I only played the prologue so far...The full game feels MUCH more polished and refined. I'm easily getting 30-40% improvement in framrates. Even in city battles with arty and a few thousand troops there was almost no lag at all. It's sooo awesome folks! This game is strategy game of the year easy if not out-right PC game of the year.

Got it. Installed it. It runs. And that's all I know.

P.S. It takes up 2.9 GB on the hard drive.

That is good to hear, I wonder what the difference is? Maybe I'll trot over to EB games and just have a 'look-see' if its in.

You can't attach it, so you need to have it hosted somewhere. then you can either link to it or use [img*]url[/img*]. Without the stars of course.
Maybe in another forum you can attach something, but the mods know more things about the settings

There are also a few jewelcases that can hold 3 CD's, so if there are truly 2 jewelcases, it seems a bit of a waste and inconvenient too (takes up more space).
I'm probably misinterpreting, so could you explain what you mean with 2 jewelcases?
JFYI and example, in the U.S., Far Cry came in a single jewl case that held FIVE CDs. I believe in Europe, FC was distributed on a single DVD. Computer System DVD players aren't as prevelant here as in Europe.

Got it, and agreed on the polish. The depth of the SP campaign is absolutely phenomenal, the battles are positively brilliant, and the music is gorgeous. Also I like the SP advisor's voice --- whoever did that voice acting did a really nice job.
