ctrl-alt-delete and shut down absolutely everything you can. Turn off any firewalls and/or virus software, etc, etc, etc then try again.

Download new drivers at the site of your card's manufacturer (ATI if you have an ATI card for example).

Err... I'm a bit of a n00b with computers. How do I tell what card I have?
should be able to find out under start>control panel>system then clicking on the "hardware" tab - alternatively it should be listed either in your computer paperwork you got with it,or you can find out by opening the box and having a look in...
Samurai Steve 23:29 09-24-2004
Ok, I go in there and looked under "Display Adapters" and here is whats written when I click the little minus box by "Display Adapters": NVIDIA RIVA TNT2 MODEL 64/MODEL 64 PRO.
Should I upgrade that ones drivers, or do I have something different?
Chimpyang 23:36 09-24-2004
Nvidia is thwe card manufacturer that you should look for.
KukriKhan 00:42 09-25-2004
Here's the link:
http://www.nvidia.com/content/drivers/drivers.asp
work your way thru the "step 1, step 2" routine, find your card, download the drivers. Good luck.
Alternatively, on that dialog box showing your vid card, if there's a button "upgrade driver", click it.

Did you get some help now?
Do you know how it works?
I have the same problem and would be very thankfull
if you can tell me the solution for your problem, if you
got one already.
Thanks in advance

My problem was solved through a (last) new installation,
it might be that there was a failure in copying one file,
so it crashed all the time I had to go to battle.
Maybe this will also solve your problem ?
And now back to fight
Strange, it worked for you, I was told my graphics card cant handle it. What card do you have?
Spartacus 08:47 10-03-2004
I think this is happening with Terrible onboard graphics cards or Old NVIDIA graphics cards.
