Its true, Europian Beers (except Heineken, eugh!! cat pee!) do tend to be a lot better than English Larger, (Carling Extra cold is ok) But Beers Like Becks, Amstel and Stella have more of a flavour to them.

English lager is nothing special, but bitter is delicious, just in case anyone from the USA misunderstood the King to be suggesting English beer was no good. What next, eh, he'll be dissing tea if we don't watch him.

Germany, Belgium, but most of all the Czech republic, make the best lager in the world IMHO. Czech lager is first class.

I love Belgian beer, and have a connection through my brother-in-law whose company is headquartered there, mail me a case or two a month. My favorites:
    Leffe (Blonde or dark)
Hoegaarden - superb choice Fragony, especially with seafood
    Het Kapittel
    Tripel Krullekop
    Liefmann's Goudenband
    Mal Heur
    Delerium Tremens

I generally drink one during dinner, and one for dessert. When entertaining guests no more than 3-4, and since my recent illness not even that. When boating/fishing we'll have a couple of American brews (3.2 beer) Miller, Budweiser, Genesee, etc... and my 14 yr. old nephew is assigned as my coxwain (boat operator). When I retire I'd like to run away to Belgium and become a Trappist Monk.

I drink on fridays saturdays and sundays. As these are the only days I can get away with being slightly tipsy (Although like most of my family it takes a good 5-10 pints to get me rat assed.) I will also drink with my mates. But if it's a school night I keep it down to one or two beers. Usualy on fridays I'll drink a couple of cans/bottles/pints.

I will drink bitter when I'm out but for relaxing in front of the T.V or in front of the computer, as I run down peasants with my knights, I'll drink a nice European Lager. I can get them pretty damn cheap as well as I'm near the channel tunnel I can pop over fill the boot and zip back over and get drinking.
