How to look into a settlement?

I've heard a couple of times now that people are looking into their towns when there isn't a battle. I haven't figured out how to do this, would some kind soul please share the mystical incantations?

Hey hows it going? Yes you can look into your settlement in peacetime. To do this:

1. Doubleleft click on the settlement
2. Click the settlement details button (bottom left, looks like parchment)
3. Click on the "view settlement on battle map" button (also bottom left, looks like magnifying glass)
