Default CA: can you tell us a bit about the combat resolve system?

Wondering what all these values (atk, def, armor, etc) mean.

I have a faint recollection of the combat resolution system in mtw: it was some type of exponential function based on dif betw atk and def.

Also, what exactly does experience do? +1 atk/def and some bonus to morale?

And command? General command rating does not seem to show up in unit stats, unlike in MTW. Does the general have to be near units for the command bonuses (whatever they are) to come into effect?

Thanks a bunch. Appreciate nay answers.

Also, an expl of how morale works would be nice (including modifiers, e.g. charged in back by cav, fighting on incline, etc)

    Without a doubt
    Singled out
    The only way I know

Stepped out of the line,Like a sheep runs from the herd
Marching out of time,To my own beat now
    The only way I know

One light, one mind,Flashing in the dark
Blinded by the silence of a thousand broken hearts

"For crying out loud" she screamed unto me
A free for all,Screw 'em all
    You are your own sight

I want to be the minority,I don't need your authority
Down with the moral majority,I want to be the minority

I remember the MTW Strat Guide actually explained every little factor, to the point where if you were bored you could get out some pen and paper and figure out who was going to win.
[War's] glory is all moonshine; even success most brilliant is over dead and mangled bodies, with the anguish and lamentations of distant families.

I did a little test from the MTW strat guide...

One side has a unit of Feudal Sergeants (FS) and the other had a unit of the same FS and a unit of Royal Knights...

First I tried charging my cavalry into the FS and it always bogged down into a nasty fight..

Second I tried getting to two FS units to fight and that just went on for ages...

    Finally one from the book...

0 rank general so no bonuses.. FS have a morale of 2..

You have to get a morale of -6 to get a unit to rout, so pinned the enemy FS with my FS and waited until the enemy had taken 10 casulties (10% loss = -2 to morale, you get the "Worried by losses" message) so their morale is now 0. Now hit them in the flank with the cavalry for an instannt -6 to morale... Instant rout every time... Great fun...
