Has anyone been given any First Cohort Legionaries yet? If so, how did it happen/what did you do?

Yeah I got Early Legionary Cohorts and regular Legion Cohorts.
I got them really early because the Marian Reforms came about in my Imperial Campaign in 212 BC. BTW the Auxilia Cav especialy and Aux. spearmen are good fighters, but the glory of Rome is the Legions. Put 'em all together like the Romans did during the time period and watch your enemies fall.

hearless bastards
OH yeah. I think I got the Reforms when I eliminated the Gauls. All I could think was that 212 BC was a bit early for the Reforms, but I was happy to get them![]()

I don't wanna get off on a rant here but............That's just my opinion, I could be wrong.
Command, come in. Have arrived in Venice, streets filled with water. Please advise.

i got mine in like 230 b.c. i think victoria jibber-jabbered about completing a high tech barrack as being the trigger for the event.
indeed
First Cohort (or Early First Cohort for that matter).
i.e. The guys with the Legionary Eagles.
You can't recruit them, but supposedly get given them by the Senate. I've yet to be given any, and so what I'm wondering is if anyone has any info on what to do to get the Senate to give you some.
I got mine on 234 B.C. It was at the same time I completed Imperial Palace in Patvium. I'm just wondering if your level of tech affects how soon the reforms are coming.
I'm NOT talking Marius Reforms here people!
To repeat my previous post:
First Cohort (or Early First Cohort for that matter).
i.e. The guys with the Legionary Eagles. NOT the regular Legonaries or Early Legionaries that you can recruit post Marius reform. (Although of course the First Cohort guys are only available post Marius).

Ok....in that case.
I just got one them a few turns ago as a reward form the Senate, for taking a rebel town that was once mine. 122 man unit with the Legionary Eagle.

Thanks... long morning... I needed this.
After the Maid Marian Reforms look for a Senate mission offering "one of the best units available to you."
This should give you one of them.
The biggest question for me is can they be retrained?
Kind of pointless for me to use them if they will slowly dwindle away from casualties.
Would like to see the legionary standard on the battlefield.
I need that extra touch to make my Carthaginian Palace complete.![]()
Sir Robin the Not-quite-so-brave-as-Sir-Lancelot,
who had nearly fought the Dragon of Agnor,
who had nearly stood up to the vicious Chicken of Bristol,
and who had personally wet himself at the Battle of Badon Hill.
I think they are supposed to give a morale boost on the field. So they might be handy to carry around like Triarii were used: back up the line with this powerful reserve and lend courage to those fighting.
Rome Total War, it's not a game, it's a do-it-yourself project.
Thanks guys, that was what I was after.![]()
