Default So, is RTW a fluke?

1-No, it isn't. How can you say that from a CA's game? It's just perfect and CA's and Activision's guys are gods.
2-Top notch. But has some minor quirks and bugs to sort out.
3-An improvement in some points and a step back in others.
4-Overall disapointing to what I expected. Tries to reinvent the wheel. Looses many good things and brings few new good ones.
5-ARGH!!! A complete failure. I expected this game to bring nirvana in to my existence!!! And it doesn't...

1.25, but I'm a single-player. Judging from these forums, multi-players have problems more serious than mine.

Still, the new strategy map is a marvel.

From where I stand, this is a 1.25 as well. No, it's not quite perfect, but damn it's good. Granted, I'm only looking at the single player, but this is such a leap over the last two TW games that it isn't even funny.

And to top it off, I don't think I've seen a single issue that a simple patch and a mod can't fix, which means that Rome is going to stay on my HD for a very, very long time.

2.5. I like it. Great graphics, good strategic game. There are some carry over gameplay bugs from STW and MTW (like they will ever get fixed...) There are some severe problems with the battle speeds that need addressed. Cavalry is too strong as a result of the speed and kill rates. Plus it seems imperative that the AI actually fight in formation for RTW to work well. However, it is almost always just a swirling mass. Needs a hefty patch.
    Rome Total War, it's not a game, it's a do-it-yourself project.

Sorry guys. I still haven't figgered out the pool controls yet.

I must ask a moderator to delete this thread for me to make a proper poll.

    Thank you...

Graphically its the greatest thing since PB&J.....battle speeds are fast yes, MP lag counteraxts this to a point. Cav too powerfull to a point.....problems can be fixed by mod and/or patch. Considering that I give a 9.5 out of 10. The breadth, scope, and depth of the game and the innovation of the campaign game rocks.

I agree w/ your ratings/reasons here, it's not quite the Second Coming. But - I'll tell you this - I will e playing nothing else for a LONG time to come.

On a side note - I will be trying Apollodaris' Speed fix tonight. Hope that helps this issue some.

Yeap. Of course. But getting very mixed feelings about it. Some very good impressions (graphics, strategical complexity) and some very bad (units charge speeds, bad modability)...

It is definitely worth buying. It has some issues though. It's the first release of a reworked engine, so I'm not surprised.
