    Question Shiny helmets, swords etc

In several of the later pre-release screenshots, a bunch of the soldiers close to the camera had pretty reflection shaders on their helmets & swords.
    Same with the armoured elephants.
I had assumed that that would be present on all the other swords/helmets too, but I've yet to see one shiny helmet or sword.

    So whats going on?
Did the shiny get cut? is it only specific units? specific armour upgrades? just a spot of photoshopping? my 9800np is insufficient? (it shouldn't be)
maybe those guys should be doing something more useful...

The armoured units look shiny but I think it's just the textures, not a pixel shader effect or something like that.
Like a wooden man facing flowers and birds.

You must turn this ON in advanced video options. It is also depending a bit on your graphics card: My Ti4400 does not look quite as good as my Radeon 9800 e.g.

I must disagree with Murmandamus, you can switch this "glint" on and off, so it is an extra effect that maybe depends on your graphics card (if it is displayed at all).

I would like to see them shiny before battle and as the batle wears on they get dirty, like in the madden series their jerseys get all muddy.

I have read over at tw forums that the reflections ARE present but only on certain units for some strage reason. Post reform roman archers have the glint (the guy posted a ss as an example) but he hasn't found any other units that have glint effect

    weird

still its only eye candy, and it doesn't make me any less addicted to the damn game
