1. OK – so the boiling oil was a complete – and unwelcome - surprise!
2. …and finding the gates open to a city with stone walls is not always a good thing, not when you forgo building siege equipment – and get jammed up at the gate – see #1 above!
3. Streets that run along walls KILL – it is possible to lose a sizable chunk of your army before you even get to the center of a town.
4. So the number indicator on the Mercenary screen is for UNITS – not number of troops available (I used to wonder why 1 and 2 man units were following me around - duh).
5. How the hell did I miss that port for the city of Syracuse – when playing as the Greek Cites faction?? My faction heir and some valuable troops are dead now for no good reason.
6. If you send a spy into a city – and he ends up dead – sending another one will only mean he ends up dead! You need to send an Assassin.
I’m sure I will have other “accomplishments” to look back on in the near future.
