It is OK for you or me (or eradosan) to try and help someone out on the forums with suggestions for things to try, because if our helpful hints result in a hard disk reformat, then we can just say "sorry mate, we tried our best. Now you did do a full back up of your system first (oh, did I forget to mention that)?"
Whereas if CA/Activision put this stuff on the official web site then they need to first prove any fixes/workarounds for themselves before they can give them their stamp of approval, otherwise they will be held to account (hung, drawn and quartered) if the cure is worse than the disease. This must be why there is a delay in something official being posted (although I have seen someone from CA confirm that they are working on a patch).
