Default A Sub game when a faction dies out?

Ive been thinking about this since I first had my faction wiped out (I only got MTW a month ago) but it would be good if you could try and affect your faction re-emerging.
It would have to be hard, even on easy but it would be nice to attempt it.
They way I see it, it would be much more cloak and dagger.
It would all hinge on your agents, as they would be the ones to secure any underage heirs/princesses etc. But first you would need to escape from the carnage. With the Rome model it could be a fighting withdrawal from your capital city, through rioting subjects, disloyal soldiers intent on siezing power, maybe even mercs hired by enemy agents to finish the job started on the field of battle?
From there it would be less battle oriented. The dead kings influence would determine how many if any other factions would be willing to take in the children, how well developed your espiognage ring is would influence wether or not you know whos a friend etc. Maybe if the king had been pious or helpful to the papacy the Pope would aid you etc. Or if he inbspired loyalty, the merchant class and dispossesed aristocracy would do what they could to provide funds for an army etc.

The first part (escaping) and the last (reclaiming) would be pretty straight forward battle driven aspects, not sure how to do the middle bit of exile and trying to gather influence and wealth, presumably more RPG like though.

What do you all think? Id like to see something along those lines. Not sure if its viable or possible though, Id imagine the developers would be against adding a whole new dimension that would only be infrequently used.

It's a nice idea, but it more suited to a 'diplomacy' kind of game, like Crusader Kings. MTW's diplomacy system is broken anyway. MTW is, for all intents and purposes, a battlefield simulator. Outside of the battlefield, the game is rather rudimentary. I don't know how RTW would do it, though.

However, it is unlikely that it will be added, since it is a relativily unimportant part of the game. The CA team will probably work on more important features (like bugs, sea battles, or refining the game). Adding new, little used features to prolong the game if the player fails is probably not high on their priority list.

I can understand that, I meant it more for a long term eventual inclusion in a new TW, not as an add on for the current titles or even the newxt few new ones. I'd imagine when it gets to the stage that there is little or nothing more they can realistically add to the campaighn or battle field aspects theyll look for other features.
    never heard of Crusader Kings.

The diplomacy system in Rome is just as bad as medieval's. Worse actually, the AI often will not accept a ceasefire, even after losing its entire army and several towns.
"Sit now there, and look out upon the lands where evil and despair shall come to those whom thou lovest. Thou hast dared to mock me, and to question the power of Melkor, master of the fates of Arda. Therefore with my eyes thou shalt see, and with my ears thou shalt hear; and never shall thou move from this place until all is fulfilled unto its bitter end". -Tolkien

Crusader Kings is an Europa Universalis style game.
