Thread: Saving Screenshots in TGA folder??

Default Saving Screenshots in TGA folder??

    Hey,

I used to take a lot of screenshots in MTW and they are saved in the TGA folder. However, F2 doesn't seem to work anymore? I have about 5 RTW TGAs stored there but no saves since then.

Question: How do you save SSs and how many have you saved so far? What keys are you using?

    Thx

Print screen is the screenshot key according to the menu. I haven't used it yet though, so no idea where the screenshots end up.

When you use it the Print Screen key the first time, a TGA folder is created in the main RTW folder.

I had to change my setting from print screen to another key combination (via the options at the game menu). However all my TGA files are just big black squares. I've tried 3 different tga readers and none of them can show the screenshot. Go I went back to print screen, alt-tab, open paint, paste, save as jpg. woohoo!

Did you try the latest version of Irfanview? It's fantastic and it's free!

If this doesn't work try running Fraps in the background and use it's built-in screenshot function. With Fraps you can also make your own in-game videos (with or without sound)!

Important Note: No Screenshots with Anti-Aliasing!

I nearly cried as I saw only Black Screenies...

I have a GeForce Ti4400, and as with many games, turning on Anti-Aliasing prevents taking a proper screenshot - I got a nice, black, screen... :)

Well the one problem I can think of using the 'Print Screen' button as the default screenshot saver key is that the OS also uses it to create a bmp image capture of whatever is on the screen. By opening virtually any paint or graphics viewer you can then paste the bmp image and save it. Just a FYI to those who are really low on memory when playing RTW; 32bit color bmp files can get quite large depending on the resolution and image and using Print Screen can waste a certain amount of system memory. So you may want to remap the screenshot key to something else. If I'm wrong someone please correct me.

It may still work with Fraps. I'll check it out tonight.

I have 5 saved TGAs (0000-0004) via Printscreen I think, but I haven't been able to save after that. I'm thinking if there's a limit. I'm moving the files to see if that is the case.

Argh!! I lost so many shots I thought I had captured....!

I finally found them, 14 tga files made by the `print screen` button. Irfanview doesnt get anything but a black screen, same for Photoshop....wtf?

I already solved it. I'm such a dope I'm using a laptop, and I accidentally pressed number lock and that incapacitates the Prnt Scrn button

Anyway, one my screenshots is a black screen too....I thought I got nice capture of a surrounded barbarian getting hit by arrows up close during a siege.

I tried to capture some screenshots, and mine appear nicely in the said TGA folder too. However my screenshots seem to be okay, no black pictures or so... (I opened them in Photoshop 6).

I think I should post it again, as nobody reads my postings:

Black .TGAs are related to the use of anti-aliasing.

This is not uncommon, I get no proper Screenshots in Joint Operations with AA, too.

Switch it off and everything will work nicely.

    Mine doesn't.
Anti aliasing off, neither print screen nor F2 saves a TGA screenshot. I have a nice TGA folder.......just a pity it's empty

Assign a new key for taking screnshots and it should work.
