Default Patriotic Music (I cant spelle)

So, what are your favorite songs that deal with a certain country, patriotic if you will? For any country not just your own btw.
    I'll start
    Dixie
    Bonnie Blue
    Glory Halleluja
    Danny Boy
Anything by Wagner (makes me want to invade poland )
    British Grenadiers
    Scotland the Brave

also, out of all anthems I have to say that the old Soviet is the most national-like. When you hear it for the first time and you dont know what country it is you have the gut feeling its russia. Or poland.

    Smile Patriotic Songs

Two songs from a couple of movies come to mind at present:

"Men of Harlech" from Zulu, a Welsh battle song sang when the Zulu had the entire fort surrounded and began singing war chants at the British, and "Die Panzerlied" from a scene in the movie Battle of the Bulge, where a commander walks into a room of his new tankers and realizes the situation is desperate, all the new tankers are young and inexperienced. The young tankers decide to show their loyalty by singing this song.

Here's the audio from the movie scene. Since it's a movie scene, you'll hear the commander say "sing", and "louder". These aren't orders, and you do not have to invade Poland.

Die Panzerlied from Battle of the Bulge

Here is "God Save the Tsar", an early Russian anthem which is used in the end of the 1812 Overture:

The most Patriotic songs tend to be national anthems.

So here in blighty we can choose from two official songs. God save the queen or Rule Brittania.

Both are relics from the 18th century. And no one knows the words and when its played before matches the players generally just mumble.

The two concievable replacements are Jerusalem. Which is one hell of a inspiring song. Or the Sex Pistols version of God Save the queen, which is a great laugh.

the Swedish Anthem, not very powerfull but very patriotic... funny thing is that the song is really about the "north" and "scandinavia"... sweden isnt even mentioned in the song.

and ofcourse the Soviet/Russian national anthem... almost turns you in to a commie!

Look what these bastards have done to Wales. They've taken our coal, our water, our steel. They buy our homes and live in them for a fortnight every year. What have they given us? Absolutely nothing. We've been exploited, raped, controlled and punished by the English — and that's who you are playing this afternoon Phil Bennett's pre 1977 Rugby match speech

I will agree with you there, it is terrible. I wish we had a proper, GOOD, national anthem. I cringe when I hear God save the queen, it is that terrible.

Proud to be an American (God Bless the USA) by Lee GreenWood. I never really liked the song, its beyond cheese, till I was stationed in Korea. They would play that song at the end of the exercises to let everyone know that it was over!!! Man, after working 18 hour days for a week or two, wearing chem gear, body armor, getting eaten alive by miquitos, or in the winter, freezing your ass off in a DFP, you sang along with that mother####er!!!

Any Scottish folk music, especially bagpipe marches, makes me think of the old Highland Regiments marching in their kilts against foreigners.
