Have any of you lost boats to weather? I've seen a report of a volcano damaging a boat, but so far have not seen any weather effects (in battles or strategic map.)
Seems a little odd that volcanic eruptions are more frequent than foul weather![]()

Rome Total War, it's not a game, it's a do-it-yourself project.
I've had exactly one (1) storm in the Med. It damaged a bireme, and I got a little text message about it.
Nothing else. I guess the bronze age featured a lot of placid, sunny days.
ive seen few storms, usualy happens when i leave a group of ship/s on the same spot for a long time, could be the AI telling me to start moving heh
only seen one so far, and while trying to get out of it, it was sunk ;)
hmm, i think it was even in the prologue ;)
Therapy helps, but screaming obscenities is cheaper.
I had one. Only a few men on my bireme died. One of them was the captain, so I got a message "that he must have angered the gods" or something, pretty funny.

When a fox kills your chickens, do you kill the pigs for seeing what happened? No you go out and hunt the fox.
Cry havoc and let slip the HOGS of war
I've seen a few storms near Sicily. I was on my way to Carthage to obey the Senate and blockade their port, when a storm appeared just next to my fleet and right above a Scipii fleet. I managed to get away from the storm the next turn, but the Scipii fleet disappeared.
The same thing was repeated a few turns later but I've yet to lose a fleet to a storm (I guess I was just lucky).
I've yet to experiance a storm. Had Mt Etna erupt once but thats it.
I have seen about 4 to 5 storms without any damage to my ships as of yet.No volcanic eruptions yet.
