Wink Starter Money: Transgressing, Bullying Julii

once you are ready to fulfill any of the senate missions involving harassing carthage or greece: ask for some money from all your allies for attacking the faction (greece/carthage) respectively... sometimes they would give me 2000, other times - 1000 dinari each to support my campaing :) then, make sure you really attack the faction (blockade a port usually) in the same turn.

in the next turn, being the peace loving emperor wannabe you are, suggest a ceasefire to the target faction, for a fee, of course. make sure your diplomat attempts to sell some other items of interest while at it: map information, trade rights, etc (he'll also gain additional stars from that, making his future negotiations easier). i've had cases in which greeks (on hard/hard) agree to pay tribute of 2000 dinari for 5 years just to get their port back. while the greeks were kindly sending their tribute to me: i carred out the same with the other enemy of rome: carthage. as one can guess, the recommendation is: repeat with greeks in five years :)

after a few rounds of this manipulation, the other roman factions caught up and sent me their letters of disgust about my transgressions. nonetheless, they were happy to financially support my next port-blockading campaign against the greeks the very next turn... :)
