It is possible but just not as easy and/or efficient as MTW. Deploy all your units and then group them. Do not try alt/ left click ( to maintain facing ) select your army group and just right click their destination. They will march to this point and arrive in formation
NB* Only if they are one group.
Unfortunately there is no maintain facing command so once they reach this point you will need to correct facing using those horrible < and > keys. I found alt/ right click so much easier as the number of times I've gone " oops, too far " with this new command![]()
I forgot to mention also.....alt/ left click destination would equate to the centre of your army, whereas the right click for army group applies to the front line. Oddly enough, alt/ left click still works for single units...It's a pain isn't it?

doesn't maintain formation, thoughOriginally Posted by hotingzilla
I agree. You would think my legions (particularly those with experience) would be able to march in formation. The units will often become jumbled messes and while that's all fine and good if you're away from the enemy and they can regroup at the destination, it's not very pleasant if you have to halt them all of the sudden, since the infantry and archers will be all too close to each other and we all know how those sneaky archers love killing friendlies at any opportunity....
What would be a cool command would be a simple 'advance' command where the formation, with the distances laid out and maintaining their current facing, just moves forward. You can then halt them at will and wheel them with the facing keys. A little slow and ponderous, but that's what formation moving would be.

Doing what I suggested will keep your formation. They will also march in formation

Yes they will - that's the good news. The NSGN is that I always liked to group into two or more wings based on unit type. That worked fine in M:TW - now I often don't have the time.Originally Posted by Orda Khan
