    Default Changing the weather?

I still think the weather in Rome TW pales into insignificance when compared to the far superior weather in STW.

Is it possible to mod the weather? I had a brief look in the text files, but couldn't find one specific for the weather climates.

    Anyone help?

I think I may have found the file - "descr_daytypes.txt"

It looks like it may be possible to mod the weather in this file. What I have tried is adding in some heavy_fog and increasing the likehood of the other more extreme weather types (e.g. blizzard, rain storm, etc).

I'll see how that pans out.

    Hello Doc
I have to agree with you, since STW the weather conditions have been far less realistic. I saw rain last night and was unimpressed
Coming from wet Wales I consider myself qualified to comment on rain. Would you agree that in MTW and here too, that rain has taken on a cartoonistic appearance compared to the very realistic STW rain? Same thing but to a lesser degree applies to fog and snow IMO.
A feature I also miss is the ' fine day but not necessarily brilliant sunshine ', not all fine days are glorious eh?

p.s. Looking out the window at the moment reminds me very much of STW

My fav in STW was "heavy fog".It was eirily beautiful and not more than a little bit tense to see Mongol Heavy Cav coming out of the mist about 20 feet in front of your troops.

Well, in that that file I mentioned it's possible to mod a few of the details and get some seriously cool weather patterns. I've notably increased the fog values for some of the weather patterns (rain_storm, blizzard and heavy_fog) and I also added the heavy_fog weather pattern to the various climatic regions. For some reason heavy_fog wasn't listed in any of them to start with?!

I was reading somewhere on the Forums here that it is because RTW uses directX for the weather effects now but they used to use shaders for STW.IF shaders were better why did they not keep using them?
