Default Got to love this game... as Egypt atleast

Must say i love this game...

Just before i attacked some Judean Fanatica or zealots or what ever... with about 5 units of chariots (as Egypt).
Somehow when i chased them down towards a river/sea i felt like that dude from the bible chasing the judeans... haha, altho the judeans didnt get anywhere... they kinda died by the beach with arrows in the neck muhaha!

another thing was kinda fun, I had two enemy armies marhing towards the City of Petra. So as natural born genius i send out an army of only Desert Horsemen.... and the plan worked the stupid Selucs chased after my dummie army that headed for arabia so his 2 huge phalanx infantry armies are kinda stuck out in the middle of nowhere hahah!

oh, and its kinda fun when chariots run amok! and you have 120 arhcers shooting at them

yeah, even the AI rocks at playing the Egyptians. Seriously underestimated how many men they could afford to throw at me - 3 decisive victories and they still had full stacks coming my way. Marcellus the Mighty was lucky go get the remnants of his army out and even then only cause I had a fleet in support - the two towns I captured were retaken within the year as well.

One reaon I think the Eggys do so well is their axemen (comp armies have heaps of them) - I think their armour value is wrong. They have a base armour value of 11 I think, which is higher than pre-marian legionaries. The axemen are armed with only a wooden shield, no body armour so this has to be a mistake. By comparison some eastern mercenaries in the same Eggy army had an armour rating of 1, with only a wooden shield for protection.

I leave the Egyptians alone until the Marius reforms kick in, and then blockade them and starve them before a serious attack.

right now my brother is mopping the floor with the Eggy's - he just fought a full stack battle with them and his Scipii army. Everything was over after the enemy General flung himself into the Phalanx Mercs and died - the rest of his army fled soon after they made contact with his army. It was a nice battle to watch except that it was over in 10 seconds after initial contact,.... They lost 1068 troops.... he lost under 200 troops....

I was unimpressed when I fought the Egyptians. I only saw two large stacks, one of which threw itself away when it attack across the Nile. Takin the cities was easy too. Just seiged until they surrendered. Then again, I was the Selucids and the war started no more than 10 turns into the game.

Egyptians look interesting, but I refuse to play as them because of the ridiculous headresses. The nubians are pretty cool, though.

The Egyptians are the most aggresive AI faction i've seen, besides the Romans. If you go near them, you must be prepared to fight.
