The game has a habit of crashing to the desktop and making certain sound problems in my version of Warlord Edition. This usually occurs in the throne room, an emissary will begin to speak but all I can hear is a short static noise and nothing more. Sometimes when I try to respond to a proposal (alliance, etc...) it will crash. Is there a patch or something?

I've got this problem before, and I found out it was more to do with my sound card settings than my 3D card settings (Which i thought were the cause.)

What I did (I'm using XP and playing WE btw) I went to start, settings, control panel and selected 'Sounds and audio devices' go to the audio tab, click on advanced in the default device, perfomance and then set the 'Hardware acceleration' to basic accleration or no acceleration. This fixed the crashing problem, and since I used full install I disabled the throne room.
If you want to listen to all the advices outside the game you can browse the STW folder and play all the sound files.

    Hopes this helps

I don't see my previous post... so sorry if i post this again.

The crashes were caused by my sound card (I use XP) and I went to the control panel, sound and audio devices, audio tab, under defualt device press advanced, performance and scroll the acceleration to basic or no acceleration. Also I installed full so I turned off the throne room. That fixed the crashing problem.

As for the sound problems I can't fix it, so as mentioned before I switched off the throne room.

Hopes this helps (btw if you want to listen to all the speaches browse in the STW folder)
