    Default Retraining Under Siege

When my city is under siege and my little town watch garrison is being nibbled away and I'm given the chance to retrain them. Should I?

When I put the units into retraining, it appears they're still part of the army; unlike M:TW where the troops were obviously unavailable.

I decided to put the 4 Town Watch into retraining and lost the town (regained it next turn with the oncoming reinforcements). But, still I wonder whether I didn't basically give the town away.

    Any definitive answers?
As democracy is perfected, the office of president represents, more and more closely, the inner soul of the people. On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron.

well I don't see what's wrong with it. Hell, having a baying army at the city gates would encourage me to sign up with the army real quick.

During a siege the army would not all be on duty at the same time to prepare for an attack so plenty of time to train - certainly holidays would not be an option.

Thumbs down Re: Retraining Under Siege

I have sat out a couple of sieges and was not able to build any buildings or train any troops even though they were listed on the construction queue. When under siege everything seems to stop - which has a kind of logic to it - most of my towns can survive for at least 6 years and you could build a fiarly big army in that time while the besiegers army stayed the same outside. I would imagine that the same applies to retraining, in that you could fill a town up with battered units and only retrain them when you needed the troops thus saving the expense of keeping them!
