The thing is, violence in video games is all or nothing. You simply don't notice it unless it is prevailent, in which case it becomes the theme and center of the game. I am of the opinion that either a game should have no blood, or go all-out Soldier of Fortune or Carmageddon style. FPS games with just madatory red puffs just don't do it for me, the might as well not include it. Video game violence is an art unto itself, which the game must devote itself to. This would interfere with the gameplay part of totalwar, which is going downhill anyway.
