    Default Got a province mysteriously

Egyptians declared war on me. After I annihilated the 2nd stack they sent me, I asked for a ceasefire and trade rights and got them both. Sometime during the next turn, I discovered that Bostra is now mine. I think it was Egyptian controlled before because it already had a shrine of Isis up. There were 6 peasant units in it as well. That's quite overkill for such a small city so I disbanded 3 of them to move it closer to large town.

I have had the same thing happen when playing as Macedonians, every single time just after the plague in Macedonia I suddenly find myself in control of Cyrene for no particular reason, and with an army of about eight experience 3 armour/weapon 1 peasants and militia hoplites.

Is Cyrenaica useless like in MTW? Bostra looks quite crappy compared to my other provinces but I don't think it's useless. It's right next to one of my provinces. Are you anywhere close to Cyrenaica when that happens?

nope. Hadn't even come into contact with it yet. Hadn't even explored that part of the map at all. Its not that good a city, but a bit better than Cyrenacia in MTW. It happens usually I find in every campaign, the Macedonians get kicked out of Greece by the Brutii and are left with their one city of Cyrene.

Have just taken Cyrenaica back from the Egyptians again. hardly anyone left to populate it after me sacking it twice but I have a handy little income coming from it. not sure of amount (at work at the moment) but not bad. So not as useless as in MTW!!

From the sounds of it the people rebelled and joined you. For some reason theres no popup/message when this happens. I had this happen in my current game, after a long battle my valiant Town Watch finally succumbed to the evil Egyptians in Thaspus. Next turn their army is back on the doorstep and i've got a decent army sitting in the city. Its nice to know my people love me so, heh.

What it probably is those provinces don't like their current owners, and you're at war with them/doing well? so they decide to join you. Thats just a guess though.

That would make sense, as every time I had the city a Numidian army was just outside. I guess the city must have a Greek culture, which is why they joined me rather than say the Egyptians or Numidians. Its just wierd that it happens almost every game, even with an AI controlled Macedonia. Maybe becuase Macedonia at that stage is always doing better than the Seleucids who are busy being gobbled up by Egpyt or the Greeks who as an AI always lose Syracuse.
