    Default My Favorite New Feature!

Now this may sound silly but my favorite feature is the Famous battle markers that are left on the map after heroic victories, Now no one will forget the great deeds performed by Flavius the Great and Marcus the Mad!!

Do these markers have a time limit? I attacked Seleucia immediately as Parthia. There was a marker there and I can't find it anymore.

The crosses arn't very big. I had one in my first julii game. They say who the generals were and the year the battle took place.

There is another thread somewhere on here and one of the devs explained what triggers a famous battle.

I've got loads of the things, mostly at river crossings and mountain passes where the Gauls thought they could get away from my advancing Juli hordes. Last save I had won 29 battles and lost 1 but I seriously can't remember lossing, think I may have autoresolved it or something.

The Spainish started to get lairy so i sent down 2 armies as a threat and gave them the diplomatic option of giving me money for a ceasefire treaty which they unfortunately didn't take so there is another little cross for Lucius the Honest

I only got the game Tuesday as it was only released here on Friday I think, but I love it already and am truely surprised at the quality of the game. I thought MTW was great but this is astounding!

At a new top-secret (non-CA) location, surrounded by lots of steel and glass, high atriums, hordes of lovely marketing ladies, and with a new and spacious desk with plenty of room for body-moving.

They don't have a time limit, but the game only allows 12 in total on the map at any one time (to keep the amount of clutter down). They're kept in a list according to the number of men in the battle, so that only the twelve largest battles are saved. You also have to be able to see the tile in order to see the famous battle symbol - if it's under the fog-of-war it is not displayed.

In one game the scipii in sicily racked up 2 heroic victorys in the first few turns.

Of course, that left them with practically no troops :p

I think the Famous Battle Markers are too cool! I agree with you Drake, it is the little things that are making RTW great. However, I would like to see more than just year, victor, and loser when the mouse is over the site. Troop numbers and loses for each side would also be nice. So that later on you can sit back in your older days and actually remember why the battle was so great. We are never satisfied are we?
I do not fight with salt but with the sword -Uesugi Kenshin after he sent half of his salt supply to his enemy, Takeda Shingen, who's salt caravans were attacked by the Hojo Clan and had no salt for the coming winter
