It's said several times by your advisors.

This has nothing to do with the mod, it's built in the game :)
I have never seen that happen outside of units pinned on a wall during a seige.

You can easily tell if a unit is fighting to the death, its flag will be a white routing flag, and if you put the mouse over it, a caption will read "fighting to the death". Units did the same thing in Medieval, if fleeing units were stuck, they would fight. However, you had to actually watch them to notice this, as the game didn't have a caption or anything.

well think about how quickly you'd think an enemy would die if they have 3 sides covered - the 4th side wasn't covered until later in the battle - and each consecutive side was sent in on a charge - which is unfortunately highly deminished in some of those mods

Well, reducing the speed by 25% (as in the mod) is too much. The game graphic engine is after all structured on speed and adrenalin. But this, although fun to look at leaves nothing for tactics. So I found that just decreasing the speed by 5-10% for most normal terain types and down to 20% for the most difficult to move (dence forest and snow) is just perfect. The cavalry charge still has the "feel" of flying and I can react pretty fast.

Now the same with kill ratio. The 50% of originall is waaay to much. I can see soldiers to swing their swords and then thing about their wife back home... their nice conversations with their friends and philosophers in the market...
    then again oh...swing their swords.
75 or 80 % is the perfect for me.

I tried the speed mod, and didn't keep it. The reason? The walk speeds in RTW are just right, so slowing everything down makes units walk too slowly.

I did install the kill rate mod, and I will never play a game without it, unless they come out with an improved version.

Yeah the kill rate mod is the only thing needed IMO - the running and all that is fine for me. The Cav are insane-fast and the charging is rather quick as well but the units tend to get tired out really quickly if you just run them around like that.

As it is I'm lucky if I don't press the "Three TImes Faster" button. I like the vast expanse of the land and I've gotten fully used to the running speed. I'm still getting used to the killing speed though.
