    Default Your Ultimate General.

    Well, usually i dont pay too much attention to my generals / faction members.. But then i ran into this one, and i gawked for quite a while:

    Quintus the Honest

    Command = 9
    Management = 2
    Influence = 10 (YIKES!!!)

    He has the following V&V's;

    confident attacker (+1 command when attacking)
    lively (+1 management, +10% movement, 5% discount on construction)
    Good Commander (+2 command)
    Fanatically Loyal (400% cost to bribe)
    Ingenous (+2 influence, -2 personal security)
    Strategist (+3 command)
    Virtous (+3 influence, +15% popularity with the senate)
    Upright (+399% cost to bribe, +6 law)
    ex queastor
    benevolent ruler (+1 influence, -1 squalor)
    careless (-1 personal security)
    ex-aedile
    ex-praetor
    pontifex maximus

    His retinue is very modest, consisting of:
    drillmaster
    priest of jupiter (those guys are PERFECT!)

    So.. Now i wonder, what kind of super generals have you created?

    On another tone.. I'm playing julii, and i see more flaws that decrease personal security with them than with anybody else so far.. Have you noticed this too?

    I am playing as the Scipii now and my faction leader is a monster.

    He hasnt lost one battle and allways crushed his opponent.

    Gaius the Mighty

    and his list is huge so I dont feel like listing them all but he has 10 in influence, 10 in command but onloy 1 in management.

    At the moment he is campaigning in Crete... and his army is epic in strength.

    2 General
    2 Triarii
    3 Hastati
    3 Principes
    2 Velites
    4 Archers
    and some merc cav.

    next stop... Sparta!

    I had a great general once. I was fighting off the julii and they kept on sending army after army against them. This general had fought many battles and had 8 stars, and 7 influence. So the sad part is that he was killed in battle. I was fighting a battle and the ai was controlling him, the stupid computer AI launched my 8-star general at a wall of legionnaries and good bye general. After that i just could not stand that AI!!

    I had an absolute monster playing as the greeks. Called doros of sparta he was a military genius +4 command, a fluent speaker, prim, famously brave, and a hooter at age 16!

    by age 30 it was Doros the Mighty he'd been responsible for 4 famous battles; had 10 general stars and numerous good v&v's eg. good attacker, good defender; conquering hero etc.etc. only thing was his hooting had turned into strange....

    by age 45 it was Doros the Mad. His hooting had progressed all the way into unhinged loon and apparently he likes to paint his bottom purple. the -3 morale hit to his troops i didn't like but he still had 10 general stars so i sent him off to the eastern front.

    by age 50 he'd singlehandedly destroyed armenia and parthia, he'd also contracted the plague. He was a very long way from greece, ageing; mad and plagueridden. Doros the "once mighty" spent the rest of his days building watch towers along the eastern borders of my empire.

    ps:- in case you hadn't noticed i really like the new family tree/improved v& v stuff. :)

    Woah, that was alot. The guy is 55 now though, guess its natural to aquire a whole lot of traits. Its annoying how he got Bloodthirsty/Lover of Beauty since now I only go to 9 stars attacking, but ah well. This guy is son of Cassius the Mighty, Grandson of Flavius Victor, and Great Grandson of Julianus the Mighty. He comes from good stock. :P

    I was a bit worried at first though, thought this line was going to die out. He didn't get married till his 40s(too busy conquering Gaul I guess), then didn't have a kid until he was 53 or 54. Now i'm hoping he lives long enough for me to make his real son heir. He does have a nephew as heir whos already turning out quite nicely stat wise though, but i'll wait to post him until hes gone on more.

    I'd have to say Asinius is my best overall general, though i've had others in the extreme ends. Julanius in particular, he was Military Genius/Legendary Commander/Cantankerous/Superior Attacker. I also got one of more 20 some odd year family members at 10 management right now with some retinue farming. Really not as big a boost as you might expect, influence seems more useful then management. But theres my general, who is still quite active by the way.

    I had planned to retire him in Rome like the conquerer he was but due to the game restricting when you can even backstab your Roman allies he couldn't. So he took the 19 Urban Cohorts I had built up and sailed to Egypt instead. Where along with two other 3k army stacks led by my heir and a promising general i'm going to blitz and raze Egypt to the ground. Got tired of their constant attacking.
