So:

I've been posting my musing on this board for the last few weeks, primarily for my own amusement but also for that rare moment when someone actually reads what I've written . . .

Well, following my recent promotion to Senior Patron ("Thank you, thank you," as Elvis used to say), and at Papewaio's suggestion, I decided to move my weekly postings to the Backroom of the Tavern. After all, it's always better the follow rules, I say. Well, actually, I don't say that. In fact, I've never said that. And, usually, I don't follow the rules. But this time, I didn't want to start trouble.

Anyway, I meander through the maze of forums to the Backroom of the Tavern where I decide to post a nice hello. And when I attempt to post, this friendly message pops up to greet me:

1. Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?

2. If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.

Well, now. I'm glad the leprechauns weren't around to see THAT! I mean, it's like showing up to a restaurant only to find out you need something called a reservation. And you have a date! One that you actually like!

So, now I'm thinking maybe I was right in my earlier post -- that there is a secret handshake and a password. Or are you trying to tell me something?

Okay, so I read all the rules this time, even the ones that contain the red additions, and I understand now that I cannot post to the tavern until AFTER I get promoted to a MEMBER.

So, I'm still confused:

Can I post here or not?

I assume Papewaio, as a moderator, was suggesting that the Backroom of the Tavern was a better place for my musings. But if I can't post there, can I post here?

Well, I had great fun reading your posts, so I wouldn't mind if you keep posting. I don't think it's spam (but the final judgement on that lies with the moderators). I guess that Papewaio meant that the off-topic forum is better suited to this kind of posts, but why he recommended the backroom I don't know. The frontroom is for light-hearted topics, the backroom is for the heavy stuff.

Papaweio was responding to a bad habit I began in Shadow's last thread, where we came dangerously close to an R rating for discussion of the cultish rituals involved in becoming a Senior Member. I believe human sacrifice and some other things got mentioned. (All in good fun! No real humans were hurt during the making of that thread!)

It had nothing to do with being off-topic, and everything to do with over-heated imaginations. Shadow, sorry for leading you into temptation without delivering you from evil.

Well, you seem to have been promoted to member, so it's a moot point, congratulations.

Anyhoo, Bckroom is for all topics, but mostly political/religious/ethical/moral discussions. If your musings are don't fit into any of those categories, you can post them in my frontroom if you desire.
