    Default Retinue Member Mortality

I would like to know, do retinue members die? Or do they just get transferred from one named agent to another for 300 years?

If you don't transfer them and the character they're attached to dies, they are gone.

But if you do transfer them consistently before the general dies, are they immortal?

    You can transfer retinue members?

Yep. As long as the recieving general has less than eight, and the generals are in the same army/city, you can drop someone else's retinue on them.

metatron beat me to it, yes. I've never done it, so I am wondering if there's anyone who has been swapping retinue members for over, say 100 years, who knows if retinue members die. I've never seen a message about it.

No. I've swapped retinue members and haven't seen a single one die.

Too bad you can't assassinate someone in a general's retinue. That would be more effective than killing the man at times.

That's a great idea Metatron. Maybe in a patch or something. I mean it makes sense.....

To find out members of a retinue a spy has to infiltrate an army first anyway. And when you send in your assassin to do his job you could get a list of his retinue (providing your spy is still infiltrated) and the precentage of making a sucessful kill on him and all of his buddies. Then just pick and choose. And each member of the retinue could get certian modifiers to evade the assassination. Because the retinue stays together most of the time, logically, all members would get a +1 to evade when the retiner contains a Pet Lion or a Wrestler.

wow....tha'd be kinda' fun to play with.....and the general could get a Paranoid vice beacuse you have killed all of his friends...but not him...that would mess with *MY* head........

I don't wanna get off on a rant here but............That's just my opinion, I could be wrong.

Command, come in. Have arrived in Venice, streets filled with water. Please advise.

I concur with andrewt - I've had some retinue characters for over a century in some of my agents.

That's a fine idea. Might as well include bribing a retinue too.

Metaron - that's a great idea. Severdsoul - your expansion is nothing short of brilliant! I would envisage the hit list as just the avatars displayed under the General, with the attiribs and % chance popping up when you hovered over them.

But, would you be able to off your own drunken uncle?
