Hi folks,
I believe I've seen in some messages, that the effects of Wonders (like Status of Zeus and Lighthouse of Rhodes) only last a fixed number of turns. Is this true for all Wonders? Or am I confused? Or...?
Thanks!![]()

I dont think they only last a few turns, the colussus has been working for quite a while now in my campaign.
As I understand it, the effects are supposed to be permanent.
However, people have been reporting a bug where the effects tail off in the years after you capture a wonder. I've also seen people saying that the effects of the wonder return if you lose and recapture that city or (oddly) capture another city with a wonder in it.
See, for example, bugs 48 and 78 in the "Patch requests" thread on the .com forums.
only zeus is bugged, afaik. it's supposed to grant permanent 20% order bonus but instead does nothing.
All the wonders grant a temporary 20% wonder bonus that fades away in 4 rounds.
I'm sure artemis, pyramids, and mausoleum are working all right (ie permanently). And casually, I've noticed trade inc drop off significantly after losing rhodes -- 20 turns after taking it. (Let it rebel to test it; though a perfect test would have you losing it mid-round)
Perhaps that's where my confusion comes from, Dorkus - when you say they have a temporary 20% bonus for 4 turns, this is on top of their regularly advertised bonus, right? (they still keep their stated bonus after the 2 years)
Yes, sorry for the confusion. should have made it more clear.Originally Posted by RedKnight
20% wonder order bonus is an undocumented bonus that all wonders grant. This fades away, but the documented bonus is permanent. (So artemis will always give you a discount on religious buildings)
