    Hi,

Sold the map info to Carthaginians in Caralis in first couple of turns for a few grand. A couple of turns later when my ship had been to gibraltar and back to the Balearics I sold it to them again. Got about 1200 the second time. This is a nice easy way to get your bank balance kick-started at the beginning of the game I think.

    Cheers,

    Rob.

Map info seems extremely overpriced to me.

I can't think of anything that you gain with the map, which is worth anything more than 1000 denarii.

Call me stupid, but can anyone what benefit there is to obtaining "Map Information"?
Can you see parts of the Map w/o sending out Spies or Diplomats?
    Thanks.

It can be useful in dealing with another faction near the beginning of the game, you might just encounter tham and not be impressed, but getting there map shows them to be holding loads and land meaning they are probably rich and rich=power=don't screw with until you have more data...

Or it may show they only have a couple of territories and are ripe for conquest..

That you can pretty much see it in the diplomacy menu.
