    Default Assisting allies in RTW

In MTW I was always pleasantly surprised when an ally would attack an enemy at the same time as me, and we could team up against the enemy. Sadly, this was an unbelievably rare occurence.

After the first tutorial battle, I was hoping this might be a larger part of the game.

This is just as rare in RTW!! Does anyone know any ways tricks to assist your allies? I try sitting next to enemy cities my allies are attacking but then they just leave. Do I have to camp an army next to an ally's city and wait for an enemy to assault it? :P

I still remember how the SPQR soldiers cheered when my general smashed the barbarians right in front of their eyes.

I hope if protectorates get fixed in a patch there could be more reliable joint attacks!!

Yeah I think Alliances should be more focused:

    1) Military Alliance
    2) Trade Alliance
    3) Both

or something similar - and Protectorates have to do anything you tell them and if you push them too hard they may rebel against you

You and your ally both have to be within the red zone of the enemy. I got involved in a war with greece because my fleet was in their red zone when a senate fleet came up and attacked them.
It is not complete until the overwieght female vocalizes.

even when my allies are in the red zone they do nothing if i am the one being attact i have watch them stand there whille i was battleing a emeny
but if they are the ones attacked and my army is in there red zone only then do the seem to help in the fight

My allies only helped once, and that was when due to some strange bug y fleet attacked the numdian fleet. The carthagians were right next to me and we won the battle.

Other then that, my allies haven't helped me once.
