Unhappy The Jerusalem Triangle in RTW

When fighting around Jerusalem, I have experienced a number of 'odd' X-file type events. The best one was yesterday when and entire Roman Army complete with general disappeared from the map (leaving me a bit short of troops with which to fight the Egyptian hordes) I was exchanging troops between the Garrison and govenor and the outside General and Army. Closed the transfer screen, there was a flurry of movement and gone! But when I looked on the city screen, the orginal garrison was there but no govenor unit and the govenor icon on the city information screen had changed to the missing general. About four years later the army suddenly reappeared and everything went back to how it should be. This is just the latest in a series of strange events on this part of the map. Another time I was totally unable to besiege Jerusalem for a couple of years. Anyone lese had this sort of thing?

Sounds like covert activity by the People's Front of Judea. They don't want people named Romanus down there.

Nothing has happened to me around Jerusalem, but I've had a governor disappear when I tried to move him between two cities in Gaul. It was a short trip, and completed within the turn. I didn't check after the move to make sure he was there, and when I looked on the following turn he'd completely disappeared.

I'm fairly sure he wasn't bribed or killed - no messages about his fate appeared.

What you want to do is to go to war against "The Popular Front of Judea" so that you win the gratitude of the "Peoples Front of Judea" and "The Judean Peoples Front".

And be sure not to anger the "People front of Gaul".

We claim no responsibility for any successful action against Roman arms ... to date.

That isn't off topic - it was rome!

So is the People's front of Judea planning to go back in time and attack the romans?

I've had a family member die, along with a percentage of all his troops, after moving him through some sub-Saharan desert. I wonder if the game is taking into account how far he is from supplies and water? Yet another undocumented feature?

It is a well known fact that "the grays" (extraterrestrials for the unitiated) were very active during the late BC centuries, and it is highly probable this explains your troop loss.

Once they have returned, it's probably in your best interest to check each legion for any form of unusual scarring or abnormal behavior. It's a well known fact (amongst those in the know) that during this fairly primeval era the grays were sent amongst us to gather what information they could...

.... therefore it's up to you to stop them, lest you unwittingly instigate some for of CTW (that's Celestial, Total War.... again, for the unititiated).
