    Default Rebel Scum

I was playing a Campaign the other night, and I went a bit mad on the conquest side of things really going for it and enslaving like crazy...

Is it me or does enslaving really increase the risk of rebels popping up in your territory? (Due to escaped slaves, because so many of them are on the move). Oddly enough I don't seem to get quite as many appear when I go around exterminating rather than enslaving.

Anyone else noticed any trends in bandits and rebels popping up?

I enslave exclusively, never exterminated or occupied not once. I get a lot of rebel slaves. But they are easy to take care of.

What do you mean by trends? As in predicting slave revolts? As opposed to them randomly popping up?

I mean if you enslave are you more likely to get rebels popping up as opposed to extermination or even occupation.

around middle europe the rebels seem to pop up evry where all the time and the germans seem to have a big problem cause of that, you dont see them around greece, italy, the east etc

i dont think it has anthing to do with enslaving or extarminating.

........ and if we should lose at least we shall all die beneath there cruel whips.......... it churns my stomache just to gaze upon them......

It does seem to cause more unrest when you enslave but it seems like when you do that unrest and culture penalties die down a lot quicker, its just the huge penalty you have to deal with from the beginning. And it was said on theses boards unrest provokes rebllious slaves.

Why a topic on this though .......

Do not fear these rebel slaves ...... they are JUST slaves

hmm, hadn't thought of this but yes, in my Brit campaign currently I'm avoiding extermination because I desperately need population. But I am having a major problem with rebels -- they pop up about every other turn somewhere in my six provinces.

Good training for young Generals and diplomats, so it actually works out well. But I definitely did not see this much rebellion in my extermination-happy Scipii campaign, even though I had 42 provinces in the last turn I played.
