so there is no way of hotkeying a single unit so you can micromanage easier?

Nope. We know it would be useful, just like units being able to be in multiple units at once. You could do it in S:TW & M:TW. But not in R:TW. Sigh.

is there any chance of a patch being released that can allow the user to do this? I know it might be a long shot since it isn't a "bug" per se, but i feel that it would be very useful.

It should be a simple thing to put into the game, especially since it is in the previous ones. Here's to hoping it will be in a soon-to-arrive patch
