    Default Faction selection question.

I like to always play a diverse group of factions so I've decided to do 10 years a peice of a few factions.

    So far I've selected

    The House of Julli
    The Greek Cities
    Brittina

Now I would like to know what other factions will offer me different troops.

Like all the Roman factions have the same troops of them I selected only 1. I only picked 1 Barbarian faction and one with mostly foot soilders.

What other factions will give me totally diff religion troops? thanks

Egyptian units are fairly unique, a good mix of armoured units with some lighter arabic desert style units. A sort of blend of lots of military styles all in one.

I liked Macedon. They have the phalanx and hoplite type infantry but in my game, I found that the archers and horsies did much better for me. They are just different enough and you get attacked from Thrace, Dacia, Greek and Romans.

Egypt is fun as well but they seem to overpower everyone else around them for quite some time.

Well most factions have a certain diversity in units.
Carthage has the most units available behind the Romans, and some different ones too. Egypt, Pontus, Seleucids, all have a good selection and can pursue different strategies (you can make a hit and run army, a solid infantry army, or anything else you'd like).
The ones to watch out for are Gaul, Scythia, and maybe some others like Thrace and Dacia. They have a limited troop selection.

Anyway, I suggest you take a look at the guide I made (link in my sig). You can easily overview all the factions in the game and decide which faction you want. Or you can load up custom battles and try all armies out first to see which you like...

Parthians or Scythians. They are both horse archer based armies. Parthians have cataphracts, cataphract camels and war elephants in addition. Scythians have more varieties of horse archers, some light and medium cavalry, one decent infantry unit and one elite archer unit.

I'd suggest Carthage, Egypt or Parthia considering the three you've played so far. Though I'd also suggest playing for more than ten years before you try another new faction. As tempting as it is to try new factions, it's best to at least stabilise a decent sized empire with a faction before you judge it and try another.

What I mean is 10 years at a click. Like play 10 as Greek Cities, save...play 10 as Brittania...save then go back. So I'm not ditiching the campaign just holding it while I play 10 years with another.

Thats why I'd like to play diverse factions with different units like not in common with any of the others I've played.

    Armenia, Sycthia.
