Unlocking Factions

I must admit that I know how to play a good game of Shogun and Medieval, but I'm still getting the feel of Rome, so, here's my question for now....

What campaigns and/or battles must i complete to unlock the other factions?

i know cheap way go to
data/world/maps/campaign/imperial_campaign

open the file called descr_strat
amd nake it look like this

dont touch any thing after the word slave

open new game and you get all factions to play

Or you can play a short campaign and unlock most of them.

ok once you allemate a faction yuo should be able to play it .

But whether you play al the campaign or not you still get all factiosn open online dont you? Or must you complete game to get all factions online open also?

I must eliminate a faction to be able to control them afterwards?

Eliminating a faction will allow you to control them in subsequent games. However, winning a game (completing the victory conditions) will unlock all of the playable factions.
