Thread: Unit formation effects

    Default Unit formation effects

I would like to know if there are effects on unit behavior based upon their formation; specifically I am interested as to what advantages a unit arranged in many ranks has over one sorted into fewer ranks with greater frontage.

I'm also curious, if there are such effects, as to the mechanisms of such a thing. Does the reduced frontage merely present a smaller target and so reduce the rate of attrition, or do troops in deep ranks have an actual morale bonus on account of their deep formation.

Any help on this matter would be appreciated. Thank you.

Still working though the beginners guide in the guide forum, but it says there that the deeper your formation, the more likely you are to the initial cavalry charge.

This should be the more likely you are to survive the initial effects of a cavalry charge. Sorry about that.

PS can we juniors not edit posts? I see others have?
