    Default Heir disappears ?

Sorry I pressed "post" accidently. Here is the full version.

Last night I was playing as Julii. It was about 20 turns into the game, and there came a small rebel force close to my capital. I was about to build my first academy there, so I gathered most of my young, ignorant family members in the capital, hoping to schmooze them through the admission process...

Whiel the local diplomat was on his way ready to bribe this group of rebel away, these young lads couldn't wait to prove their worth. All 6 of them charged out with their bodyguards, along with 2 units of town watch. It is worth mentioning here that the commander, "A", was a 7-star general with very little other ability, while the governer of the capital was somebody else, "B", with quite good management skills. B happens to be the heir.

Due to the advantage of speed, the battle was won with ease, with none of the family member dropped to the ground. However, after the battle I got a message of "a new heir" (A). The original heir, B, disappeared forever. All the other family members were fine. I guess the reasons are either:

    (1) B died on the battlefield, while there was no message indicating it. I didn't see any cut scene movie, but he wasn't the commander anyway... But I remember in some other battles, where I defeat an army with multiple enemy members, I do have individual cut scene for each fallen family member.

    (2) Since B is the heir and A is the commander, I guess the program found a conflict here and confused A & B, and deleted B by some buggy operation?

    (3) "A" simply assassinated "B" secretly because he wants to be the heir.

As far as the A.I. if the family members are in the same stack you only get a message for the general. What happens when you do get that message is the heirs were in separate stacks and 1 of them was a reeforcement

I did see multiple death scenes in one given army, not as reinforcement.
The AI usually does not stock more than one family members in an army,
but it often happens in a siege.

Yesterday I was taking a rebel town,
where there were only three regular units.
I also saw 2 death scenes (one on a peasant, the other on the cavalry).
    Now this is quite weird...
Perhaps rules are different in a siege -
whenever a commanding unit fall, there will be a new commanding unit?

the only times i see multiple death scenes by enemy units that are not reinforcements is if there are multiple enemy stacks in the red square when battle switches from campaign to battle map.

and i know i've seen where say an enemy unit is outside the city, but inside the red square when i assault the city, and the outside force moves into the city and join up with the besieged then i can get multiple death scenes, but otherwise i only just get one.
    indeed
