Tertius the Gambler

I'm playing as the Brutii and have been ignoring the Senate's mission for a loooonnngggg time. So imagine my surprise when Tertius "the Gambler", the governor of Corinth, is named Pontifex Maximus. I decided to take a look at Tertius since I knew nothing about him. Tertius is old. Ninety-nine years old! He has over twenty V&V's most of which are negative. Some of his more stellar qualities are "womanizer", "aesthete", "rarified tastes", "glutton", "inveterate gambler", "incredibly foul-mouthed", "drunkard", and "poor farmer". And for some reason the Senate has chosen to put him in charge of the vestal virgins.... If they hadn't done that he probably would have lived forever, as it was, he only lived to be 104 and died in the summer of 146 BC. I believe the old coot "worked" himself to death.

I'm sure such a man had no concept of 'temptation', since he just did anything he wanted to anyway! No doubt he had absolutely NO idea about the world beyond the fact that he was rich beyond being able to spend it all. From his perspective, a bunch of old geezers gave him a vast harem of sexy young women. :D

Vestal Virgins who lost their virginity were buried alive. IIRC.

Hmmm, would that really stop him? Anyway if he was in charge he could change the rules... As long as they were good.
