(RTW) Where can I find the Bastarnae Mercenaries?

The unit description in the game directory suggests they are found near the Balkan Islands, but I don't know where those islands are or what their name is on the RTW map!

So... where do you find these guys?

The Balkans is the area in and around Greece.

I generally found them in Northern Greece in my Greek Campaign. They are kidn of all over the place there as I remember recently hiring the following Mercs in Ionia (right near Sardis): 2 Bastarnae's, 2 Cretian Archers, 2 Rhodesian Slingers, 1 Merc Hoplite. A nice assortment I have to say.

So I'd say they can be found anywhere from Northern Greece to Western Anatolia. They're amazing troops.

I picked up a group by Bylazora last night. Wow, those guys are vicious on walls! Last night in a seige assault they killed 192 peasants, levy pikemen and militia hoplites with a loss of 16 men.

These guys are also fun to listen to when they stand around doing nothing. They say or yell some funny stuff sometimes.
