GoreBag: Oh, Prole, you're a nerd's wet dream.
The most realistic fps is America's Army I would think. It was developed as a training (and recruitment) tool for the Army. It's very, very realistic. Almost too much at times. Plus its free! The only complaint I have against it is the qualifying courses you have to complete before you can play normal and certain classes as well (sniper, medic, etc.) The courses are basically drawn out advertisements with tests afterward.
Nothing close to pity moved inside me. I was sliding over some edge within myself. I was going to rip open his skin with my bare hands, claw past his ribs and tear out his liver and then I was going to eat it, gorging myself on his blood.

Red orchestra is quite realistic. A WWII mod for UT2004 set on the Eastern front![]()
No crosshaairs or other information like how many bullets are in the gun. So you panic if you meet an enemy and run out of bullets![]()
The new version made alot of improvements (There is even a tank map with a driver, gunner and coaxel mg)
"A man may fight for many things: his country, his principles, his friends, the glistening tear on the cheek of a golden child. But personally, I'd mudwrestle my own mother for a ton of cash, an amusing clock and a stack of French porn."

Yeah Red Orchestra is a good mod![]()

I haven't played many FPS and only play them vs the AI.
Ghost Recon felt fairly realistic, but maybe too much so - you often get killed by one shot by someone you don't even see; realistic but not fun. A lot of save and reload; and later taking advantage of previous run throughs of the game so you know where the enemy were. Conversely, you usually kill without being seen - to do otherwise invites disaster. Plus the whole game feels rather soulless.
I much preferred Vietcong. By varying the difficulty level you get go anywhere between Ghost Recon (or tougher) and a more conventional, "shoot me, I can take it" game. I found a happy middle where you could risk a firefight but not feel like the Terminator. The feel of the authentic weapons and taking advantage of cover was great too. Plus I really enjoyed the setting, story and variety of missions.
Both games have a lot of openness and a squad, which I like rather than being sole protaganist moving down the rails. Haven't tried Operation Flashpoint yet but it sounds my cup of tea.
america's army isnt realistic at all!
most realistic is, operation flashpoint or rainbow six series (some of the latter editions (raven shield) is not as realistic as some of the former though)
