    Default Trouble playing as Germany

    Gday
This is my first time on any forum so please be kind if I do something stupid. I was having trouble playing as Germany MTW. Not long after the civil war in the late period The game would throw me out. I have no trouble playing as any other faction and I was wondering if anyone could possibly help.
    Cheers

any changes, err..you have plain VI/1.1. using a cheat? is it GA mode?

you have a save before the save? Try this one first, see if you pass beyond.

V1.1, conquest and using the work sundays cheat. I don't have a save game because I was playing for about 4 hours before it threw me out so the only save game I have is the autosave. Any ideas?

start saving! -let it look like: g1206 Otto IV

read the MTW- guides to be found right here in this forum. (me play GA, only)

cheating is a good way to become used to MTW.

    an add:

germany (..histori..nm) is realy alot of fun!!!

see i start in 1205 already. i have the obligation to have a vs. french war with england right away. followed by a endless struggle between poland, rebels and me around the "brandenburg". in 1227 a major battle vs. the danish put saxony back to my control. same like the french belongings west to the rhine (..). how did i decide in 1225..with the pope or against him?
while all this, me could also have a couple of crusades to prussia and livland.

and that`s all out of a bundle of campaign-beginnigs and (tortured) history.

HRE has it all, (but a navy)

you start with a "weak" king, but this simply gave me the possibility to go whatever direction.(christ,anti-;)
[you saw the foriety of ways to play as HRE in the guides section]

pps: where i said weak, the HRE start in a "invader" position..without the army who did this. you sure can turn any faction into an empire, but the HRE empire (as soon as it`s there) ...

That is a classic MTW save file corruption. Sorry, you will have to restart the campaign. MTW will eventually corrupt (as will STW and RTW.) Fortunately, it is easy to avoid with a bit of discipline. Save the game at the start of each turn before moving anything. I have never had a corruption when following this simple rule (took me awhile to figure it out--the hard way.) Corruptions come from saving late in the turn or at the end of the turn. Ironically, "Autosave" is at the end of the turn. That makes "Autosave" more prone to corruption.

Eventually you have to go back and delete some saves (the game only allows 100.)
    Rome Total War, it's not a game, it's a do-it-yourself project.

Welcome to the Org Troy Lawton.

SAVE SAVE SAVE... like Red Harvest says, and always as before you move things around on the campaign map.

Make sure you get all the patches too.
