    Default Withdrawal..march or die (RTW)

Why is it, that when I MONSTER an enemy force on the battlefield...those that escape manage to retreat about 200 kms past several of my 'blocking' forts and armies to a position of safety? I thought the 'red-zones' are no go!?!
Why is it that I cannot do this?

The ability to conduct retrograde defensive tactics needs to be addressed!
The challenge of defeating a larger enemy force with a significantly smaller force forms is vital given the blatant stupidity (oftimes) of the AI.

If I wanted to just 'build more troops' than the opposition, I'd play command and conquer.

Having said that, I've gotten rid of the little green arrows, and the waving banners...great framerate improvement...and a little more realistic!!

How did yo u get rid of the arrows and the banners??

I agree though. It seems the more complete your victory the farther an enemy will retreat. I dont understand why they can just move so far past any of their movement points and run so far away you cant finish your massacre

I edited the preferences.txt in the Rome:Totalwar folder.
    Specifically:

    SHOW_BANNERS:FALSE and
    DISABLE_ARROW_MARKERS:TRUE

    They previously had opposite values.

You can adjust the mouse speed here as well!

I found this in a thread here at the org...can't remember exactly where though!

Just remember to backup the .txt file first...then edit away.

What really irritates me about the withdrawal thingy, is that the manage to withdraw AROUND the forces that I set up to block them!!

It SHOULD be nothing more than last stand time....
