Slings are sad, because you can massacre them with your light cav?

    Fascinating.

Would you also suggest, that HAs are outright sad because they get massacred by light cavalry?

HA's? No bro, I'm just speaking from experience. On the seige battles, the enemy slingers killed like two guys, and all were massacred, for nothing! A waste of time from what I've experienced so far. But mabye that's because they were trying to sling up my 50 ft. stone walls, and I had archer unit on them, plus the two arrow fireing towers, lol!

Siris by the way Sparta was the traditional enemy of Athens for many years and conquered Athens twice. That is why I said death to Athens because a true Spartan would never cooperate with Athens before thouroughly defeating the citizens. Two of Sparta's greatest wars were fought against Athens and her allies.

I set up a custom battle with my spartan hoplites in a town vs 3 roman armies, computer chosen. After 30min, i quit, with about 3000 casulaties inflicted vs 300 taken.

    They rule!!

My only complaint was that i won the game before i got to use them in battle...

    Thank you for the story

I was impressed with the Spartan's in my Greek campaign; spent the entire campaign trying to figure out how to get more (the last 2sp's were retired to Sparta) never did get another unit

I'm now creating them in Sparta & Syracuse, but I've already lost about 7 of them in my homelands (just north of Sparta in the war vs. Bruti there), but they killed over 1,400+ enemies! Da** I love these guys! But they take two years to create, and are only able to be produced in Syracuse & Sparta.

In Syracuse, I have yet to use them in action. I sent two units, along with some Ongars by ship to Rome to assist the seige there, but the ship was sunk... I lost 180 prime Spartans, and they never got the chance to fight.
