Thumbs up New to Rome: Such a MASTERPIECE! I've never played such a MIGHTY GAME!

Hi, I've just bought this spectacular game Rome Total War and want to share my expressions with you guys, fans of historical RTS games! This game is so spectacular, that I can't make myself get off from computer screen after starting it! It is exactly 2 games in 1: a campaign map and battle map, which makes the game an absolute king of strategy. The interface is spectacular, the music is heart-braking, the sounds effects makes it even more marvelous! I've almost fallen in love with that woman assistant! ( )And what graphics! God, I love this game! Roma Victoria! Hail Ceaser!

With all these people complaining about how "this game is barely a beta" is good to see someone who actually enjoys the game as much as I do! Simply amazing is the only word for it, and I'm convinced CA will fix the relativlely few bugs in the game through patches.

Indeed! Grand Duke of Long-Winded Names, you'll find a fair few comments here from people who are unhappy at one aspect or another (or many...) of the game, but I am certain that The Creative Assembly will have the fixed soon enough. I think they are a little disappointed, given how utterly perfect the previous game in the series, Medieval: Total War, was

It is indeed good to see somebody with such enthusiasm and enjoyment as a result of the game. If you ever (god-forbid and highly unlikely!) get bored of Rome, I strongly urge you to go out and buy Medieval: Total War, and perhaps even Shogun: Total War before that - and the popular expansions, of course. I'm sure we'd both agree the guys at CA deserve the money

Guys, there are plenty of other threads out there berating CA, and if need be you can always create more. Please, let's keep this thread of celebration in the spirit it was intended. Maybe we could be rewarded with good karma in the form of a patch in the near future

Ah, Total war gains another friend, welcome mate, and good, enjoy RTW, after all is not that bad of a game as some people think it is, it just needs a patch.

I played MTW to death, STW a fair bit, and am completely entranced by RTW. What bugs are in it will be fixed by CA.. I just adore this game.

I personally think that playing as the Romans is supposed to be a little easy.. try some of the more 'surrounded' factions for a real challenge!

Welcome Grand Duke Vytautas! This is (IMO) the best community for a game bar none. Enjoy!

GD if you haven't done so already, I recommend you pick up a copy of the Totalwar Warchest and have a look at the preceding games to RTW.

Great games, great music, great fun.

The Viking Music in the Viking Invasion game was brilliant, as was the Mongol music for the STW expansion.

@TheDuck: Just to clarify, I wasn't griping, merely making a joke in connection with Lonewarrior's details.

I am quite certain the game will be brilliant - almost definitely the best game ever - when I finally can play it :) (Added bonus, by then, most of the issues should have been resolved too!)

Thumbs up Re: New to Rome: Such a MASTERPIECE! I've never played such a MIGHTY GAME!

THANK YOU guys for your support. This is the best game I've played ever in my life. I can't even express myself of its MAGNIFICENCE! I've already played MTW, but haven't tried STW thus far - the Total War games are indeed amazing, but ROME:TOTAL WAR IS A KING OF STRATEGY, because I find the features of "Ceaser", "Civilization" and many other strategy games put all together in this masterpiece. Now I am playing my first campaign in this glorious game as Julii family; already kicked some asses of gaul barbarians and am enjoying the game completely. The more I play, the more interesting it becomes. Wish me luck. ROMA INVICTA!

And just to clarify on your clarification.. I didn't take it as such! Your tone was very positive!

I actually took your statements in the joking tone intended and was adding my own crooning.

And to the gripers that exist in other threads: the original release of MTW had many similar issues to the issues existent in RTW. Folks are just forgetting because MTW has reached such a wonderful state between the patches by CA and all the wonderful modding action on the part of a wonderful/interested community.

And thank god for the community! Where else could an ancient history buff who also likes computer games feel at home??

CA will always have my support.. because they combine my two loves into one terrific medium! Woohoo!

    this game sucks!!! JUST KIDDING.

I'm glad someone is enthusiastic about RTW. It's an awesome game despite of a few glitches that I'm sure will be fixed.

On a side note, I also want to say that this forum is much better compared to the other two (.com and .net). People are more civilized and considerate here.

In spite of my complaining about the battles being too easy (of course I am exploiting the over-powered archers to no end) I would agree that CA has created a masterpiece. Now if we can just get another patch with all the things I want changed in it then life will be perfect (well, gaming wise anyway). Thank god it's Friday so that I have time for a good long session (36 hours too many?)!

Don't want to put a damper on this love fest, just like to keep it accurate.

The TW series isn't a RTS game, but a Turned Based Strategy game (TBS), the distinction is significant.
