    Hattori,

I myself have searched and searched and searched and searched for this. No one seems to make midi's of Japanese classical music. And searching for MP3's is kinda futile, because I'm not terribly familiar with the performers' names and what not. All I've found are heaps and heaps of anime links, anime soundtracks, J-pop, etc. It's annoying. There's too much candy on the net and not enough of what you really want.

You will probably not find any traditional music. But you can find some nice chinese midi files online. The problem is they are copyrighted and you can't put them on your homepage (i think).

If you can read Japanese you could try one of the Japanese web sites, there were lots of 33 1/3 lp's made with the sort of music you are looking for. Surely someone has put some of this music onto a mp3 site.

I don't know about MIDI files. But how about the library. I found lots of world music there. And in music stores there are lots of bargin bins with cheap titles that don't have to pay millions of dollars to the latest chart topping rubbish.

Here is an example from amazon $3.97
