Wondering what else a diplomat or a Spy could do? Also what added features could CA install into the whole diplomacy section of the game?

Some thoughts

1/ Allow diplomats to hire mercs. Cultures didn't send out armies (Generals) to randomnly look for anyone who wants a job. They could be hired (1/4 of the fee now, the rest on arrival) and then sent to a specific location.

2/ Have actual units available for hire, not just generic 'Barbarian Mercenaries'. More units like the Cretan Archers etc

3/ If bribes fail have consequences again ala MTW

4/ Have factions who are about to be destroyed seek out the aggressor to bargain for their lives. They should open negotiations!

5/ Give Diplomats the option to tell another factions army to remove themselves from your land....or else!

6/ Allow Spies to recruit 'agents'. They would be paid a fee every turn they provide information about a specifc target i.e. City/town or character. You could maybe have a family member assigned to be Spy Master. He would then spend all his time developing a Spy network.

That's about all I can think of at the moment.
